Dr Tony Dey is a Dunedin boy and Otago graduate, after working in hospitals and a period as a teaching fellow back at Otago Tony built a large successful practice on Ponsonby Road. This practice was eventually acquired by the corporate dental group Lumino becoming one of their largest most successful practices. After practicing in his large bustling Ponsonby clinic for over 10 years Dr Dey is now excited to work in a more boutique setting at the Customs Street Dentists Auckland CBD clinic, providing bespoke treatments right in the heart of his adopted city. where he can concentrate on delivering the high end care he has become renowned for.

Catherine graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2018. She then moved back to Auckland where she has been working for the last three years in private practice. With a friendly and empathetic nature she aims to provide a positive dental experience for all of her patients and has been praised for having a gentle touch. She places a strong emphasis on disease prevention and education and loves the feeling of boosting someone’s confidence with a new smile.

Outside of work Catherine enjoys keeping active, travelling and spending time with her friends and family.

Larsa Lasso is a 2015 Otago graduate. Larsa is known for her gentle approach and for making every patient feel comfortable and cared for. She believes dental hygiene should be a positive experience and works closely with patients to support their long-term oral health.

Aline Tristao Da Cruz graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy from the University of Otago in 2019. Originally from Brazil, she has lived in New Zealand for 16 years and proudly call it home.

Her focus on helping patients feel at ease—especially those with dental anxiety—while providing high-quality care in periodontal treatment, preventive dentistry, whitening, and aesthetics. She is also trained in Botox, offering patients options to enhance both their oral health and confidence.

Outside of work she loves traveling and exploring new places, especially through food. Whether trying new restaurants or discovering different cultures abroad, she enjoys experiences that connect her with people and their stories.

Dr. Matthias Stamm is originally from Wuppertal, Germany, and began his career as a top-ranked dental technician before earning his Doctorate in Dental Surgery and Ph.D. from the University of Freiburg. Encouraged by mentors to pursue further study, Matthias went on to specialise in oral surgery, dental implantology, and periodontology—completing over a decade of advanced training.

Alongside clinical practice, Matthias built a strong academic profile, becoming a junior professor at the University of Düsseldorf and later lecturing internationally across Europe, the U.S., and Asia. His expertise has taken him from the lecture halls of Germany to global dental conferences, always focused on improving patient care through science and innovation.

After running a successful private clinic in Germany for many years, Matthias and his family made the move to New Zealand in 2016, drawn by the lifestyle and the chance to contribute to local oral health. He joined our team in 2018, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge, a gentle approach, and a deep commitment to patient outcomes.

Outside of work, Matthias enjoys golf, fishing, and kiteboarding—fully embracing the Kiwi lifestyle with his wife Susi and their two children.

Zade Al-Ali is a local Auckland boy with a strong international background, now returning home to practise as an associate dentist in New Zealand.

Following his graduation, he undertook further examinations in the United States, broadening his clinical skills and knowledge. With few years of experience working in private dentistry in the United Kingdom, he also completed a number of advanced and internationally recognised courses in London, with a particular focus on cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics.

This extensive overseas experience has shaped his clinical approach, and he is excited to provide high-quality, patient-focused care in New Zealand

Michelle Stratton graduated from AUT in 2025 with a Bachelor of Health Science and is a qualified Oral Health Therapist. With over seven years of experience in the dental industry, she brings both strong clinical knowledge and a genuine passion for patient care.

Michelle believes going to the dentist shouldn’t be scary. She aims to make every visit feel comfortable, relaxed, and judgement-free, helping patients feel at ease no matter their dental history. Outside of the clinic, Michelle enjoys spending time outdoors and playing musical instruments, which reflects her calm, well-balanced approach to both life and patient care.

Dayna Masters is our Multi-Site Manager overseeing three practices, with more than 10 years of experience in the dental industry. Her career started as a dental assistant before moving into reception and ultimately practice management. This diverse experience has given her a well-rounded understanding of patient care and clinic operations. Outside of work, Dayna enjoys spending time with her two young daughters who keep her very busy!
